HUD oversees numerous foreclosed or repossessed properties and has issued HUD Property Preservation Guidelines which specify how property preservaiton work is to be done as well as standard pricing for specific items. For example, HUD property preservation guidelines specify how much will be paid for changing locks, how much will be paid for cutting the grass, etc.
